Dedicated to employee success in Suffolk

Suffolk region has shown its dedication to supporting employee career progression after a sales trainee has risen rapidly to managing her own site.

Millie Warren, who started as a trainee sales advisor in 2018, has now been given charge of her own site, Buckton Place in Leiston.

The 24-year-old university graduate praised the company for its support in her career progression and her ambitions for the future.

She said: “When I left university, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. I had a friend who worked in sales for Persimmon and, after speaking to them about the position, I immediately thought it was role for me.

“I started as a trainee in the May and by the December I was qualified as a sales advisor. The transition was so quick and that was purely down to the fantastic training offered by Persimmon.

“There were so many different training courses available, and I would highly recommend the programme to anyone looking to embark on a career in sales.”

After qualifying as a sales advisor, Millie opted to increase her knowledge by gaining experience in the regional head office in Great Blakenham, supporting customers using Persimmon’s Home Change or Part Exchange schemes, before being offered her own development to manage.

The additional experience she gained is described by Millie to be a massive help in her chances of promotion going forward.

“There is so much backing to progress here at Persimmon Suffolk.” Said Millie. “I have such supportive managers around me and I absolutely love working for the team.

“The business is always growing, and we are always building new sites. In the next few years, I would love to become a sales manager here. Knowing the possibility is there if I work hard is what really makes me want to stay with the company.”

Suffolk region sales director Lucy Woodhall said: “Millie has been with the company for four years now and her skills and knowledge in her role of sales advisor continue to grow.

“She is now in charge of her own site, Buckton Place, which is extremely well deserved. I can’t wait to continue watching her grow throughout her career here at Persimmon Suffolk.”

Millie added: “Buckton Place is a such a lovely development to work on. It’s super busy and has kept me going non-stop. Leiston is a great location and, although considered quite rural, the development has excellent transport links to London as well as being close to the coast.”

When not selling homes, Millie enjoys running as well as enjoying coffee and dinner with friends.

Buckton Place offers a new collection of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties making it a perfect place for first time buyers and families alike.
