The first homes have been snapped up at a new development in North Petherton.
Persimmon Homes is building 72 much-needed properties at its Chaucer's Meadow development on Taunton Road.
The first properties have now been reserved by eager house hunters, with initial completions and move-ins planned for June.
Carly Spear, Sales Director at Severn Valley, said: “We have seen huge interest in our Chaucer’s Meadow development, which comes as no surprise given 180 people registered an interest before the homes were even released for sale. We look forward to handing over the keys to our customers in the summer.
“Chaucer's Meadow is located between the sought-after towns of Bridgwater and Taunton in beautiful Somerset. There is so much for people enjoy right on their doorsteps including the stunning Quantock Hills, so we are confident of many more reservations in the weeks to come. We’d urge people to act quickly to secure their preferred plots.”
Chaucer's Meadow, which spans 5.68 acres, is creating 105 full-time direct jobs. The development will be made up of a choice of two, three and four-bedroom homes.
House types available include the popular four-bedroom Chedworth with its open plan kitchen/family room and well-proportioned living room.
Twenty-two of the 72 properties – more than 30 per cent – will be ‘affordable’ for social housing. The site is located on land to the east of the A38 and is included as part of the Sedgemoor Draft Local Plan. It will be accessed via a new road off the A38.
Families will benefit from good local schools and there are fantastic commuter links to the cities of Bristol, Exeter and Bath.
