New homes released for sale at Llanharan site

Househunters in South Wales have been given a boost as the first new homes are released for sale at a large development in Llanharan.

Michael’s Grove is the second phase of Persimmon’s development at a former opencast mine site on Bridgend Road, off junction 35 of the M4.

The first of the 170 properties being built on this phase will be released onto the market at 11am on Saturday (May 21).

A selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes are being built.

Sharon Bouhali, Sales Director at West Wales, said: “We’re delighted to be on the cusp of launching this exciting new phase of development at Michael’s Grove.“The first phase of work here, Milton Meadow, has proved extremely popular. There is high demand in the area and we’re proud to be building the homes that people need.

“We have some of our most popular house types available at Michael’s Grove and look forward to showing people all of the options.”

Visits to the Michael’s Grove sales office are by appointment only.

Persimmon is building an initial 1,850 properties at the Llanharan site, including 152 at Milton Meadow and these 170 homes at Michael’s Grove.

The development will also include commercial units. Persimmon worked alongside the National Assembly for Wales and MP Chris Elmore to make the development a reality. The site has long been designated by Rhondda Cynon Taf council (RCT) as a key strategic development site.

Part of the site has been remediated following the cessation of mining by Celtic Energy in the 1990s
