The Parsons family have used our Part Exchange scheme to become the first people to move in at our newest site in Bridgend.
Danielle and husband Graham moved into their new three-bedroom detached property at Llys Ystrad in mid-February with their two teenage sons.
In total, 127 homes are being built at Llys Ystrad - on the former Ysgol Bryn Castell site on Llangewydd Road in Cefn Glas – and the Parsons were the first to receive their keys.
Danielle, a 34-year-old technical clerk, said: “We needed some more room for our teenagers so were looking at new-build options in the area.
“We looked at some other builders but preferred the Persimmon site and found the customer service was much better.
“Our new home at Llys Ystrad is a Lockwood Corner property. It has the same number of bedrooms as our old property but it’s got the additional benefits of a dining room and an ensuite to one of the bedrooms, and it’s also detached.
“We knew it was the one for us as soon as we walked in.”
The couple reserved the property in September and were impressed with the communication during the buying process.
“Everyone at Persimmon has been fantastic,” said Danielle. “Kay, the sales advisor, was brilliant and Andy, the site manager, has ensured we have been kept fully up-to-date with progress.
“Since we moved in he’s been popping round regularly to check everything is OK.
“The Part Exchange scheme was really helpful as it took the stress away from selling our existing property and meant we didn’t have to shell out on rent before we moved in.”
Danielle works in Cardiff so the proximity to Bridgend Train Station was important, with regular 20-minute trains to the capital.
Danielle said: “The area has everything we need and is great for kids and teenagers.
“The school is nearby as well as the train station for when we need to get into Cardiff.
“We’re looking forward to more people moving in at the development in the weeks and months to come and a new community emerging.”
