Three females have been appointed into construction roles at Persimmon Homes Central.
Khay Mohammed, Olivia Hurley and Sophie Grahame have joined the company’s Construction team covering Birmingham, Walsall, West Bromwich, Coventry and Warwickshire.

Khay from Perry Barr, has joined as a graduate assistant site manager. Her interest in the sector peaked following a placement she did with the company back in 2020 as part of a Women into Construction initiative.
Olivia, also from Birmingham, was put forward by her tutor at Solihull College, and will be undertaking a painting and decorating apprenticeship - a role that is proving to be a valuable asset to the company’s sites.
Sutton Coldfield based Sophie Grahame, who was recommended by her tutor at Sandwell College, has been taken on as an apprentice carpenter.
Commenting on her appointment Sophie said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Persimmon Homes at a time when they have recently secured their 5 star quality rating. I am joining a great team and I am particularly looking forward to developing my carpentry skills further and to working on my first site at Holly Fields in the coming weeks.”
These appointments come at a time when the company has launched its’ Target 50 initiative which is an ambition to recruit 50 female apprentices or technical trainees into construction-related roles this year. The initiative forms part of Persimmon’s 50th anniversary celebrations and supports the Company’s commitment to building and retaining a more diverse and inclusive workforce.
Commenting on her appointment, Managing Director Neil Williams said: “We are delighted that Khay, Olivia and Sophie have joined the team at an exciting time. We want to actively encourage more motivated and driven female apprentices and technical trainees to join us in construction roles and build a successful career at Persimmon.”
Khay commented: “My ambition is to utilise the training resources Persimmon offers to further develop my skills and knowledge. In the future I hope to become a Site Manager and run my own site having gained the relevant experience.”
