East Wales host NRW for Llanwern site visit

The East Wales team recently welcomed Natural Resources Wales to its Llanwern development take a look at the enhanced environmental measures the business is delivering on sites across the region.

The region has implemented an attenuation pond in Newport and is working proactively with NRW on visits at its active sites throughout the development cycle.

Our Llanwern site has now been offered to the regulator as a training facility for their new inspectors, which will allow them to gain practical on a construction site and dealing with attenuation ponds and silt mitigation measures.

Following the NRW visit, Site Manager Richard Hughes said:

“It was a pleasure to once again welcome Natural Resources Wales to site and demonstrate the attenuation pond and water treatment works we’ve implemented at Llanwern.

“As a responsible builder, we are implementing a range of enhanced environmental measures at our sites, as we work proactively and constructively with regulators and communities to protect the local environment.”

“As one of the nation’s leading housebuilders, we are fully aware of our responsibilities to the environment where we are working and building new homes.

“The work undertaken at Springfield Meadows in Newport to safeguard the waterways is of the highest standard, and the teams in East Wales will continue to implement best practice across all of our sites.”
