A Towcester-based community larder network has received a £1,000 donation from our Midlands team to boost its food waste reduction campaigns.
TowFood, part of snvb Community Larders was gifted a £1,000 cash donation as part of our Community Champions initiative. The funds will be used as part of the group’s efforts to reduce food waste and distribute affordable food throughout the community as well as modernising its premises across Northamptonshire.
Founded in January 2021, the larder network partners with local supermarkets, businesses and food surplus providers to distribute affordable food throughout the community and reduce food waste.
Katie Steele at snvb Community Larders said, said: “We’re so grateful for this kind donation from Persimmon Homes. Our network of community larders rely so heavily on the kindness of volunteers and donors, so to know we’ve received such a generous boost from the Persimmon team is a huge vote of confidence for our work.
“This kind donation means we are able to continue our work throughout the cost of living crisis, as well as making sure our donation facilities are modern and safe for the people that use it.”
