A local primary school has been announced as one of our Community Champions – receiving a £1,000 donation from the North Scotland region.
St Margaret’s RC Primary School in Dunfermline has been fundraising for new outdoor educational equipment for children of all ages. The school aims to boost their ‘Playground Pals’ programme by purchasing new equipment that will develop pupil’s leadership and creativity skills, while supporting outdoor learning and emotional wellbeing.
The £1,000 donation from North Scotland is part of the Community Champions scheme, which supports good causes in areas where we build new homes. The scheme has seen over £1.5m donated to local charities, clubs and organisations across the country since 2021.
Katie Mitchell, St Margaret’s RCPS Deputy Head Teacher, said:
“We would like to thank Persimmon for their kind donation towards our Playground Pals programme.
“St Margaret’s has been fundraising for new outdoor equipment for some time to enrich our playground environment for pupils.
“Our aspiration is to motivate and engage our pupils in outdoor education and this donation takes us one step closer to fulfilling that ambition.”
James MacKay, North Scotland Managing Director, said:
“I'm thrilled that we can assist the pupils and staff at St Margaret’s RC Primary School with their playground pals project, which will bring real benefits for local pupils.
“The school has done a fantastic job fundraising for the new equipment and I hope that our donation can help move the project one step closer to completion. We want to leave a positive, lasting legacy in the areas where we operate and supporting local initiatives like the playground pals project is a big part of that.”
