The Foundation donated nearly £100,000 to good causes across the UK in December 2024.
It’s the season for giving – and the Persimmon Charitable Foundation is donating nearly £100,000 to charities across the UK, with the aim of improving social mobility, especially among young people.
The recipients are:
- Cardiff City FC Community Foundation – £7,500
- The Cumbria Community Foundation’s Transforming West Cumbria programme – £15,000
- The Larder in West Lothian, Scotland – £15,000
- Norwich City Community Sports Foundation’s ‘Play & Eat’ programme – £15,000
- Swansea City AFC Foundation – £7,500
- The South-West Social Mobility Commission – £15,000
- YMCA in Sandwell, part of the YMCA Black Country Group – £15,000.
The ‘Play & Eat’ programme aims to tackle food poverty throughout Norfolk. Martha Casey, Relationships Manager at Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, said: “Thanks to this donation, we are able to continue the programme and offer this vital support to the community of Norfolk.”
Angela Moohan, CEO of The Larder, said: “The donation will strengthen The Larder’s ability to serve the West Lothian community and advance its mission of tackling food poverty and creating pathways to personal and professional growth.”
Luke Tyler, Head of Health & Wellbeing Services at YMCA Black Country Group, said: “This funding is a significant boost for the YMCA and for young people in Sandwell. It will enable us to provide one-to-one mentoring and small-group support, helping young people develop key skills and access work placements across a range of sectors. Through workshops focused on confidence-building and self-esteem, we will also support young people to build resilience, allowing them to thrive.”
