The Denis Law Legacy Trust has received a £5,000 donation from Persimmon Homes North Scotland.
Young people across Aberdeen are set to benefit from sports activities thanks to a £5,000 donation from Persimmon North Scotland to the Denis Law Legacy Trust.
The funding will support the Trust’s Streetsport initiative, which offers free activities to young people in safe, engaging environments, helping to reduce anti-social behaviour while promoting well-being and community spirit.
Staff and volunteers at the Denis Law Legacy Trust, named after the iconic football legend, were thrilled to be recognised as a beneficiary of Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative – which supports charities and community organisations in the areas where the homebuilder operates. Over the past five years, the scheme has donated more than £360,000 to good causes across Scotland.
Stephen Flynn, MP for Aberdeen South, joined Persimmon North Scotland at RGU Sport to present the cheque to the charity, recognising the important work it does in the community.
Stephen Flynn, MP for Aberdeen South, said:
"The Denis Law Legacy Trust does amazing work getting right into the heart of communities across Aberdeen and giving young people opportunities that just simply wouldn't exist.
"Activities like Streetsport engages boys and girls all over the city and it's been a pleasure to see first hand the difference it makes in supporting our local communities.
"This donation will give the Trust a real boost and is a welcome gesture from Persimmon Homes."
James MacKay, Managing Director of Persimmon North Scotland, said:
“We’re delighted to support the great work of the Denis Law Legacy Trust. Initiatives like Streetsport are vital in giving young people opportunities to learn and build brighter futures.
“We are excited to be bringing forward plans for new homes and investment across the North East and as part of that we want to make sure we’re supporting the communities we operate in.”
