Exciting new chapter for Boyton Place community as retail units approved
26 March 2025

Plans for a small supermarket, two additional retail units and a plaza area that will create a thriving hub for a new community in Suffolk have been approved
Persimmon Homes have been granted consent for their application for Phase 3A and the local centre at Boyton Place, North West Haverhill.
The latest phase marks the start of an exciting chapter for the new community, bringing a retail space suitable for a small supermarket, plus two retail units and a paved plaza to offer a focal point for residents.
West Suffolk Council’s approval means work can now start on these much-needed facilities this summer, to the delight of local residents and ward councillors.
Cllr Joe Mason, West Suffolk Council member for North Haverhill, said: “The approval of the local centre is fantastic news for both Persimmon residents and the wider North West Haverhill community.
“This development will provide essential amenities and a welcoming space that meets everyday shopping needs and encourages social connections. With seating, lighting, and thoughtfully designed facilities, it will become a much-needed focal point for the area. I look forward to seeing it take shape and the positive impact it will bring."
Ian Hamilton, Managing Director for Persimmon Homes Suffolk, said: “We have worked with local members, the parish council and West Suffolk Council to bring this application forward ahead of schedule to allow us to create these much-needed facilities for Boyton Place earlier than originally planned.
“We know this area will be a focal point for the whole community, giving them shopping facilities within walking distance of their new homes.”
