Plans for high quality new homes at Cleugh Brae include improving transport links with a new Park and Ride facility

Persimmon East Scotland has submitted a planning application for an exciting new development at Cleugh Brae in West Lothian – which would deliver the final phase of development in the West Calder/Mossend development area.

The proposal includes plans for 213 high-quality new homes, designed to provide a variety of options for local families, all with a focus on affordability and energy efficiency. 53 of the homes would be specifically allocated to help local people in housing need, helping to tackle West Lothian’s housing emergency. These would include bungalows as well as new family homes.

The project will also include land for a new Park and Ride facility at West Calder rail station, creating significant opportunities for enhancing transport links for the local community and supporting sustainable travel.

The development will also feature high-quality landscaping and open spaces to foster a sense of community and well-being. Alongside the potential for enhanced facilities at West Calder rail station, the development will make contributions to help improve local school facilities.

The application marks an important step in completing the vision for the West Calder/Mossend development area, which has been a key focus for West Lothian Council’s local housing strategy.

Neil Parry, Persimmon East Scotland Managing Director, said “We are delighted to present our plans for Cleugh Brae and look forward to working with West Lothian Council as we take them forward. As well as delivering much-needed new homes, if approved the development will also play a key role in improving local infrastructure with a new Park and Ride facility at West Calder station.

“With our headquarters in West Lothian, we’re committed to creating sustainable, inclusive developments here and Cleugh Brae is another example of how we are working to meet local housing needs and invest in local communities.”
