120 beautiful new homes approved by Councillors in Kent
09 April 2025

We are delighted to receive the green light from councillors for our exciting plans for 120 zero-carbon ready homes in the village of Horsmonden, Tunbridge Wells.
Kent is known as the Garden of England and Horsmonden epitomises this description. This is why Persimmon has produced a beautiful design to preserve the character of the village, with over 65 per cent of the site kept as public open space while delivering a 20 per cent Biodiversity Net Gain.
The plans will make a significant contribution to meeting the local housing needs of the area with Persimmon offering a Local Homes Guarantee that will see 50 per cent of private homes reserved for local people for six months. Alongside this, the developer will also deliver 48 homes for either shared ownership or below market rent, including bungalows for those with mobility needs.
All homes built at Horsmonden will be zero-carbon ready with air-source heat pumps and solar panels. On top of this, Persimmon will also provide land for a new medical centre and contribute over £2.1m to local public services and infrastructure.
Martin Crick, Managing Director of Persimmon Homes South East said:
“We’re extremely proud of the beautiful scheme we have produced at Horsmonden and are delighted to receive the approval of councillors.
“As well as delivering a really attractive new development, we also know our site will play an important role in meeting the local housing needs of young families and first-time buyers who are keen to stay in the area.
“This is also a highly sustainable development with 120 zero-carbon ready homes, extensive green space and land for a new medical centre. We’re looking forward to starting work as soon as possible.”
