Football Club Scores with donation from Nottingham

Clipstone FC football club is celebrating after receiving a donation from Persimmon Homes.
The nearly 100-year-old club secured a £1,000 donation after applying to our Community Champions initiative.
Mansfield MP Steve Yemm presented the cheque to the club on Friday, April 4.
Money donated will go towards recycling banks at Clipstone FC, Richard Clarey, Chairman of the club said.
Steve Yemm MP said: “Grassroots clubs like those at Clipstone FC are the beating heart of our communities — they give young people purpose, pride, and a place to belong. It was a pleasure to be there as Persimmon Homes handed over this generous £1,000 donation, which will help the club continue its brilliant work.
“What sets Clipstone FC apart is its commitment to breaking down barriers to opportunity and making sure every young person has the chance to get involved, grow in confidence, and feel part of something bigger. That’s not just community spirit — that’s community leadership.”
Robbie Steel, Planning Manager for Nottingham region said: “We’re so pleased to support Clipstone FC with our donation.
“It’s fantastic to see the work they’re doing in the local community. We do hope this donation makes a difference and we look forward to watching the club succeed”.
Richard Clarey said: “It was a pleasure to show Steve Yemm MP and Persimmon around the club. Clipstone FC is a club that has served the community for years and this donation will help us to continue to do that.”
