Green light for hundreds of new homes in Mansfield
08 April 2025

Hundreds of new homes in Mansfield have been given the go ahead with the proposed development delivering more than £2.4 million of investment in the local area.
Mansfield District Council’s planning committee have voted to approve the reserved matters application for 372 new homes on Abbott Road. The site is allocated for housing in the Mansfield Local Plan and already had outline planning permission in place.
A mix of homes suitable for local home buyers will be available, with 1–4-bedroom properties on offer. 27 of the new homes will be provided as affordable rent or shared ownership.
Persimmon Homes Nottingham will be providing more than £2.4 million in investment into the local area, including £1.4 million towards primary school education in the Pleasley planning area.
Almost half a million pounds will also be invested in a new or existing bus service and more than quarter of a million will go towards off-site highway improvements.
Residents will also be able to enjoy over 6 acres of public open space – the equivalent of four football pitches. Two new on-site children’s play areas will also be incorporated into the development.
George Breed, Senior Land and Planning Manager for Persimmon Nottingham said “We’re pleased that Councillors have approved these plans for hundreds of high-quality new homes for local people. It’s going to be fantastic to see this area develop and we look forward to continuing to work with the Council, local stakeholders and residents as these plans progress.”
